A new gift from the universe, maybe

As you may have guessed, the intense cold and humidity of this winter has been very hard. I don't know if I can stay in the Midwest. I did leave for a reason, and don't know if I will ever recover enough to handle winters. There's improvement, but slowly. A ghost question -- Part research and part for a friend --

Does anyone know how to stop random ghosts from attaching to people and following them home?

I have friends who are dealing with this -- one parent and a small child see ghosts, and the father has had to firmly run off a couple of spirits who were probably picked up off the greenbelt or something.

You may think they're nuts, so this is for the people who don't think it's a crazy question at all. Feel free to respond by LJ email.

Ghost Towns

My youngest sister loves ghost stories. She picks up all the "Haunted Houses of America" and that sort of thing. Not very well-written, she'll say, but the kernels of the tales are fascinating. Well -- here's a gang of ghost towns. I've seen an extended photo shoot of the one near the Russian reactor, but the rest are new to me.

Did you know there used to be (very recently, historically speaking) a town between Hong Kong and China that neither side claimed? Take a look -- fascinating stuff.
