ID Theft Protections -- good state ones, and a potential bad federal one.

Consumers Union is launching a letter drive to representatives to block the bill that just came out of a congressional committee. They could vote on H.R. 3997 at any moment -- so send your rep an email telling him or her the ID Theft Protection laws should be strengthened, not weakened!

(Although they might encourage her to marry a rising young fellow who is suspected of abusing girlfriends, figuring they can protect her from him, yet benefit from the marriage . . ..)
