What Big Brother Sees.....

We need to drive this home to non-geeks, folks. This is not good.

There's a joke. A bunch of spiders have hung their webs across the road, and there's an elephant walking in their direction. One spider says "I know, I know. But if we can pull this off, we'll be set for life!"

When I heard that Qwest refused to turn over their records, I thought of that joke. ATT pulls down its pants and bends over, but if Qwest can stand up to the federal government and survive ... well, that's better than an advertising blitz.

I forsee a change both a technological and sociological change. Even those who have nothing to hide will start buying disposable cell phones with X number of minutes. And they will pay with cash.

Wasn't it Sterling who wrote about a future in which some people were weaving smart grass into cell phones that distingrated after a certain amount of use?

I like the spider joke. Remind me to tell you the one about the tsunami approaching, and how three religious groups deal with it. Same sense of spirit!

Go Quest! I'm sure I have Quest stock somewhere. Probably also ATT...
