Sheesh....

Today was quite bizarre. I spent most of the day rescuing the Polaris in the pool from itself--the bag was emptied five times! And the side filters filled--the hackberry on the lot line decided to tell us it was very stressed, and started dropping leaves--mostly on our deck cover and pool. I started watering the hackberries, a trickle to let it think it was getting a soft rain-- So at 10:30 pm or so, it started to pour, after a half-hour of nothing but impressive lightning. It rained a solid hour--hard--and then another hour or so gently, and it's still thundering--but I think the rain is east of here now.

The rain pantheon accepted my watering offering, hooray!

Also ended up spending three hours with a friend--she was supposed to give me a massage, both for my health and her nerves, but the phone went off every ten minutes--lawyers, MLS, realtors--her life is in chaos. I did what I could for general calming, and then came back to save the Polaris again.

Cats are in crisis, with new food, unhappy with litter box location-- But there is hope, we have some solid suggestions to try and reduce their stress, thereby making them more approachable and more willing to accept another cat. And don't believe everything you've heard about raw food being so great. They tried a sample--Maisie distinctly looked at me and said, "It's dead....and it still doesn't crunch." Can't find a canned one so far that she'll eat, but at least she likes the Super Premium dried food--all of them so far *except* the one I feed my three. (This actually might be good, as my Feed Freely, and she gorges herself. We can work with this....)

Meg was like, "I don't think so--is there any of that chicken and herring left?" While Merlyn said "Max is interested--let him try it!" Max hasn't been interested in *any* canned food--he'll eat the chicken and herring occasionally, a little bit--but he ate half the tiny bit of raw I let him try.

Then he puked it all over my bedroom.

No more raw food. This will save me a bundle in food $$$.
