Well, that was a mistake...
Okay, here's part of why I haven't posted...
Lucky us -- between W's outpatient surgery and my sleep-over procedure, we're not going anywhere for Xmas. I can't drive and W can't fly, just to make it really interesting.
Survived surgery, was actually doing very well. Have been good since coming home Thursday evening, alternating resting and something like measuring out ingredients for spiced nuts. (Then I sit down and W stirred until done -- that sort of thing.) W took me out to eat,
1minnesotagirl,
tia_tarina and
dragonherder1 dropped by and we all went to eat (again), friends called, saw the season close of NUMB3RS, etc. Unfortunately, in one thing my body is an over-achiever -- and that one thing has probably ripped the top stitches, which is a b%^*&. There are four more layers, and they've told me when to call back should things not return to healing mode...
But, damn it all, I wanted to wrap stuff this am!
Instead, laying on the couch and contemplating a nap. The situation did involve me staying up until 2:30 am just to make sure things were not getting worse. W didn't say anything, and I finally realized the time and told him he could go to bed, I promised to wake him if I needed him.
He refused, of course. And he was probably right. If I'd fainted, the concussion would have been worse if undiscovered for a long time. But although I am very grateful for insurance covering 80%, my part is still half of my available cash. If I get brave (or reckless) I'll list med bills this month. Those of you with medical/dental will be praising god or goddess indeed... Wish I'd discovered this need a few months ago, instead of joining the "Made the deductible, let's go!" group. Feeling abused and Not Looking Forward to the Visa bill at the end of the month. On the other hand, we may get more Amazon points than I know what to do with...
AND Teo's finally has chestnut gelato, and even through meds it is still divine! Or do I mean sublime? I think sublime with a touch of divine.
I think it's time to blow everything else off and write. Or attempt to read the last 200 friends posts.

The chestnut tastes unique to me -- goes best alone, or with vanilla, chocolate or cinnamon gelato. Haven't found anything else yet that pairs well.
