Writers’ Workshop
Pandamonium is conducting a writers’ workshop as part of the convention, which will be held in Norman, Oklahoma on November 19-21, 2004. The fee for the workshop is $35 (or $50, which includes a pass to the convention).
What the workshop includes:
1.) At least three one-hour group sessions, each led by a professional writer or editor
2.) A one-on-one critique of your manuscript by either a professional writer or a professional editor
3.) Admission to the convention track on writing (Saturday only with workshop fee OR all three days of writing related panels with a convention pass!)
Submission Requirements:
1.) Your manuscript must be received by October 12
2.) You must submit either a short story (5,000 words or less) OR part of a novel (first 3,500 words or less plus 3-5 page synopsis)
3.) Your manuscript must be in the science fiction, fantasy, or horror genre
4.) You must submit your manuscript in proper format (given below)
Manuscript format:
A.) One inch margins all around, double-spaced lines, 12 point font
B.) First page must include:
1. Your name and address in upper left corner
2. Approximate word count in upper right corner
3. Title and byline one-third of the way down page
4. Beginning of story at least double-spaced under byline
C.) All other pages should include:
1. Story title (shortened if needed)
2. Author’s last name and page number, such as I, Robot / Asimov / 27
You may submit multiple manuscripts, but the charge for each manuscript is $35. If the workshop fills up, Pandamonium reserves the right to accept only one submission. Submit early! Workshop space is limited to 15 attendees.
