I look forward to being able to search Live Journal...

I've just spent an hour finding out that there are web sites that talk passionately about articles within old gaming magazines. But I can't find anyone currently quoting prices on the magazines. So have no idea whether they have value, and how to price them at a convention.

May just tell AggieCon to keep the table -- unless By LB wants to set up jewelry there?

Bev is bringing all her stuff, but I have too few books left to sell remaindered stuff, except the really rare books like Elfquest: BOTC short stories.

Bother...too much to do before Friday AM.

did you try Amazon or Ebay for the magazine prices?

I assume that by "gaming magazines" you're talking about magazines covering the adventure gaming and hobby gaming field (role-playing games, simulations boardgames, collector card games, and the like). It's been years — over a decade, actually — since I priced gaming magazines. But in my experience, they didn't tend to be worth much, with the exception of specific magazines or specific issues of specific magazines.

For example, early-issue runs of titles like Strategy & Tactics might fetch a decent price, or issues of The Strategic Review (precursopr to Dragon) or the issue of Different Worlds with the RPG stats for members of the X-Men. Early issues of Dragon might do well, but not as well as before TSR issued the CD of years of issues in .PDF format. And so on.

This eBay search might give you a general idea of the value of RPG magazines, and this one of boardgame magazines. Look only at lots that have been bid on — those that haven't been bid on yet may only indicate the ridiculously high hopes of the sellers.

Best of luck...

Since I talked my way in at the last minute, I don't have a table, could I possibly share? I don't have a lot either, since Zane's supposed to be there, but I do have one title.

Nope, sorry, Russ will be selling Scott's stuff, and I don't sell enough to justify going.

But if I go to MediaWest or ArmadilloCon I'll be glad to sell them for you!

Great icon! I'll let you know about ArmadilloCon. I may just take them and sell them for $2.00 -- and if I can't find buyers, they could go to the A&M library collection (if I can find room to box them...)

Could not find anything on Ebay -- didn't think Amazon would have older mags.

Thanks. I've got old issues of Space Gamer and White Dwarf, among other things. I may just price them at $3.00 and see if anyone is interested at the con.

I could just recycle them, but I remember Inky after her Dad tossed her #1 Superman....sad, very sad. So just in case someone wants them, I thought I'd try.

I can check -- we've got at least 3 on the table, and possibly more. What size is it?

It's a 6X9 trade paper. But if you already have 3 people, don't worry about it. I have no problem being nomadic. 8-)
