Sometimes these general things are perfectly timed....

You hard-shelled crustaceans are among the most sensitive creatures in the cosmic zoo. Now, as something reminds you of a past disappointment, you tend to shy away from anything that could stimulate additional pain. Unfortunately, the act of protecting yourself from rejection can also fulfill your worst fear by cutting you off from the flow of love and acceptance. Don't make a decision based upon the past. Instead, allow yourself to feel what's really happening in the present.

Possibilities arise from unusual places now, but this won't make them any less favorable. Emotionally charged discussions with friends or a romantic partner could lead you to a conceptual breakthrough as you realize a new way to reach your goals. Remain open to the alternatives, for your path is about to widen if you let it.

Interesting. I read, and I have to say...ouch. that sounds too close for comfort...one of those things that you don't want to hear, but are afraid are too true. Yours just happened to be one of the first entries to pop up on my friends list today...mmmm. Interesting coincidence...if I believed in such things.

Also odd that it was your LJ because my S.O. just ordered Kindred Rites just a couple days ago, and I had just reminded him that he needed to, and found out it should be here in a couple days.
It's all [livejournal.com profile] ladypoetess' fault. She got the teenager hooked on Night Calls.

Well --

I have the feeling there is such as thing as synchronicity, so ... possibly? I posted them because something in them resonated to snags in my relationships and career, things deeply pondered but just recently brought up to the top layer. They enabled me to push on to new understanding with my life partner, and reminded me to be on the lookout for new paths to my goal.

At any rate, it probably doesn't hurt to do some extra pondering on these snips of astrology. Maybe your subconscious is ready to move on something. Hope it's a good something!

A new reader, how lovely! Thanks for thinking of me. For the complete canon, there's also that short story in WINGS OF MORNING, about Allie's duck hunt. There's a link to the publisher from my web page.

Yes, I believe [livejournal.com profile] ladypoetess had me read it when I was at her place last... but the teenager hasn't yet. Night Calls just pulled her in - she's doing the gothy, hate the world, swears she's she's an atheist thing. I think she'll grow out of part of that. And I'm glad she has good taste in reading material.

Good to hear. If I have a mission, it's reaching people who don't think there's something beyond all this scattered at our feet.

I think there is -- and I don't presume to know what it is -- but striving in life to heal and not hurt should be a place to start.

"...but striving in life to heal and not hurt should be a place to start."

I agree completely. Her father and I would just be happy right now for her to ge over insisting that she hates her mother (who is soon to be divorced from her father), or for that matter hating anyone, but we figure that will come in time.

Ladypoetess handed me her much-loved copy of Night Calls several years ago...the same copy she handed the teenager. We of course have our own copy now, since Ladypoetess doesn't let it out of her house. I loved that book, I love your writing, and I've made chicken from the recipe in Night Calls several times...much to everyone's enjoyment. In fact, I think it's in the card index as "Night Calls Chicken".

I'm doing my best to find a new home for Allie -- as I write, she's meeting the girls her own age at Esme's school, and then is going to do exactly what her mentor said she could do -- without knowing the person she's following to the stables is actually going through a portal.

Landing her on the New York City docks of 1810. Fortunately, in pants and her hair hidden.

Chaos will follow... ;^)

I am waiting with baited breath. Also chewing on finger nails.

Edit: Ah, this came through as a response to the horoscope stuff -- don't worry about Allie. She's one of those people who can usually land on their feet.

Of course, the location can be anywhere from a pig wallow to a spot halfway across the world... ;^)

We crabs take everything through the heart. Go easy on the fingernails and cuticles -- your teeth will thank you for it.

Nope -- not a guess. I had the front half of a cuspid turn to tooth dust on my finger once. HIGHLY unamusing and painful, and the fix never has looked right. Skin and teeth are tough.
