Is your cat a micro-manager?

When W's brother was here, I knew Merlyn would have a fit about an human in the "off limits" room. He can't accept that it's off-limits to cats and not humans. So -- J shuts the door to do some work. He'd also shut the bathroom door, thus depriving the cats of the "dualing" box, where all three mark busily during a 24 hour period. The caterwauling begins!

I knock on the bathroom door to make sure J is not in there -- then open it for Merlyn. (J opens his door to check that I didn't knock on the bedroom door.) I head back for the addition.

Merlyn starts screaming. I go back to the hall, and he leads me to the box. THAT cat has been in it again! (Maisie never vocally comments on the boys using it -- she just hops in and stakes her own claim.) So I shovel the box and even add fresh litter. He's on top of the sink cabinet, supervising.

And he doesn't start yelling at night unless I'm still working, thus rousing W. If I go to bed? Then he yells that I'm not up to sit on.

I will try once adding him to the bed. Then he gets tossed into the addition for the night -- there's now a fancy litter box in the addition bathroom. (The golden dome. Who knew the cats were big Notre Dame football fans?)

Glad he settled for sleeping with us -- it's pretty cold in the addition in winter for him (60s -- nice for me, cold for skinny seal-coated cat, unless oil heater or mattress pad is on.)

He also goes to the restroom with us. We just can't convince him we know what we're doing in there....

Is he the one who always tries to supervise when you're doing massages, too? :)

I haven't gotten to go to the restroom by myself since I've had pets...sigh. If I shut the door, they bang on it trying to open it (and it sometimes works). I do have to warn guests to shut the guest bathroom door securely or be okay about having furry visitors to help them potty.

He is the premier massage cat. He used to hide under the sheets for an hour, waiting for my Friday afternoon client. Patient as a stone....

do y'all have a microwave? my cats are complete suckers for the heated fabric bags of feed-corn. microwave for a minute or two, stays hot/warm for hours.

Mine love the rice bags I use for LMT clients, and the mattress pad warmer -- and the little oil warmer I can plug in. Also -- their basket is heated, which they adore. On really cold days, they won't even get out to come see what I'm doing. They prefer to be baked Burmese.

Maisie always wants to help anyone in her little bathroom. And of course the bathroom in the addition has all those yummy plants to eat -- and those using the people box can't stop you from eating spider plants, for example, and then throwing them up everywhere.

Exactly,

with a catnip garnish!

I trap mine in sunbeams while I head to work, by putting one of the heated bags in a spot where they'll be comfy, and where I know the sun will soon reach. prrrrrrrrr

Oh, that's a great icon!

I blush to confess I move the chairs around in the office when I don't have clients, so the cats can sit on something soft instead of the tile floor.
