I finished my BFA in a small town. I never managed to be there during their big fair (which hosted a huge standardbred/pacer races bit) but I was there during the Memorial Day Fair. The big finale was four helicopters from the local air base flying down the main street. The town had the small university, and also Johnny Carson once said it had one of the most beautiful main streets in the country -- a slew of renovated Victorians, Queen Annes and bungalows.
