Bad word Bad word Bad word!

So, a blender full of butternut squash, sweet potatoes and carrots has gone into a stock pot.

I don't have the time OR money for this crap!

Thank-you. I feel better. Gotta stir the pot and check on the muffins. Then back to my bad entering VISA this year.

*Sigh* Anyone bought a blender in the past year they really like? I'm gonna hang on to the glass top.

The discontinued line of Jenn Air Attrezzi blenders (and mixers) are the most beautiful items of kitchen equipement I have ever owned. They are still fairly available. I don't use my blender on a daily basis though.

the bases come in copper, stainless & white and the bowls/jars in about fifteen colors, including an etched glass, clear, sapphire blue, a green and so on. If your blender sits out all the time, it might be a consideration.

For cooking, I highly recommend the Braun stick blender. I don't make margaritas or smoothies at home, so a real blender is overkill for me.

I'm pretty sure I have a spare blender, a nice older one. Maybe two. You're welcome to look at both.

I use the blender for making creme soups and nut butter sauces for kale and such. I don't generally do margaritas, but it's a handy feature. I've tried the immersion ones -- they didn't work well in small things for me (W loves it) but I've seen it used in a pot on the stove and it was great there.

But they're two hundred dollars at Discount Appliances. If I wasn't so tired (and still doing taxes) I'd start calling Home Depots. The cobalt one would go great with my blue KitchenAid. I suspect the KitchenAid could do this job with no problem, but I had chunks of veggies, and the whisk or beater bar didn't seem the right paddle. (Nor the bread hook...)

Yeah - If you have Expos in your area that are in the process of closing, they used to carry them. I paid entirely too much for them, but not anywhere near list. You might put a search on ebay - that's how I got my mixer.

The older I've gotten, the more testosterone I have. I LUV blowing things up. That YouTube the Virginia DOT did of exploding bridges can perk up a bad day. I heard Purdue took off the film of Purdue's engineering department trying to be the fastest at having a grill ready for cooking hamburgers. The winners used jet propulsion fuel. Vaporized the grill, but it was lit first!

(I think they were worried about imitators...they did need a crane to get enough distance on the thing.)

I don't know. Looks to me like a good one is a delight -- but I think I'd try to stock up on parts now, since it's not just the model but the entire small appliance division going away.

Funny thing is, I don't think I've ever seen a good CR review on Jenn-Air stoves, etc. You think they'd keep this thing, and figure out new ways to market it.
