As shaky as that fire demon....
Remember in HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE when they redrew the location of the doors, and had to move the ever-burning fire? That's how I feel now. I've put off updating my Quicken as long as I could, but at the end of April they stop supporting Quicken 6. I HATE changes to important software.
This was reasonable on their part -- Intuit only wants to support three versions back. But it meant my download from my bank would no longer work. So, prisoner to computers that I am, I burned a back-up disk for the data files, and started the wizard execute.
Of course, the first thing was to uninstall the old program. It even took the shortcut icon from my monitor and replaced it with a new shortcut. (The new one is not nearly as classy as 2006's was....) I'll peek in a few minutes, and see if everything went well.
I handle one crisis at a time. First, found basics in apartment. Second, did taxes. (This has been a big deal -- and I know other people in my position have gone YEARS without filing because all those slips were too overwhelming. It's one of those litmus tests I give myself every once in a while. Can I do finance?) Third, double-check client sites and try to make sure I haven't missed anything. Fourth, continue second level unpacking, one area at a time, seeking new serenity in less boxes. Fifth? Macro cooking. I can't get well on Twinkies, alas.
And sixth? Why, writing notes on books. I have returned to shots, and the creativity is coming back on-line. Seventh is visualizing where I want to go with drawings.
I should hint that wonder hangers will be added to my "As seen on TV" bit I'm writing for BVC's blog. Real reviews, with the products tested and everything! But -- now the kitchen wants attention.
May you all be safe from the bizarre weather pounding down on us.
