So much for that idea....

It's 81 degrees F. and the roses next door are gong nuts.

The apartment complex I'd thought about before moving in with a roommate last February?

The price for an apartment has doubled -- and now that price is just for an efficiency.

Ouch.

I suppose that means I might have been looking for a new place in February, 2013, so maybe this is all right.

I may end up back in Lakeway...or learning how to use a shotgun.

And Austin voters rejected the bond issue to build moderate and low-income housing. Rents are still fairly reasonable here, but they did go up $40 a month.

This was a hidden downtown Austin apartment complex. I think they've turned it into corporate rentals. With luck, I can still afford South Austin or far north Austin.

Perhaps people think that the rents will magically drop as opposed to flat-lining when Austin is once more overbuilt at a certain $$ rate? I know the place I rented for three years carefully wrote in a large discount rate per month, showing me what they felt the place was worth.

They were caught in the last over-building.
