Not only has a stranger subscribed me to a Yahoo Group, but I have found possibly six new sites--in the last month!--that have built profiles for the doctor whose social media info I'm trying to clean up. I'm guessing this is people trying to sell advertising to both the doctors themselves and to those wishing to capture eyes coming to see the profiles. The data is incorrect, of course, and if aggressive SEO raises these sites too high in the ranks, it costs the doc business.

This is a nightmare. Watch for your data--and what groups you are on. This is more serious than being added to games at Facebook.

How do you check the groups -isn't a password necessary?

I started getting messages from something I didn't sign up for, and clicked to leave the group by marking it as spam so Gmail would uninstall for me.
