It's my shorthand for the causative agent of Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi. I have chronic Lyme, and among other side effects is bloating, inability to process carbohydrates like wheat, corn, milk, potatoes--when I get trace amounts, I bloat. I still eat small amounts of rice, which also makes me bloat, but not as badly. I figure I can't cut it out completely...worried about diet balance.
After that, I'd have to take off an arm.
Definite bad idea. 8^) I'd vote for trying to slowly lose the 20, and then say screw it for the rest. If your blood work is good, and you feel healthy, is a doctor going to hassle you? Not unless any extra weight appears in the doctor's own, personal bugbear area--like stomach fat weirds out some doctors, because it increases certain risks.
And unless you're devoted to your doctor, a doc who is a nag about one small thing can be replaced. Speaking from experience...
