Is anyone else on board with this?

Do you ever have this TREMENDOUS desire to mail back all the blank checks your credit card company sends you every year? And to demand they send you a seedling so you can plant a tree to replace the lost wood gone to print the $%$##@! checks?

I have had an Amazon Platinum card for 18 months. EVERY month they have sent me checks, good for 3-4 months. Every month!

Wouldn't you imagine it would occur to someone that I DON'T WANT the checks? That I feed them to my mulcher? (Except for the last-- [livejournal.com profile] ebeeman told me to hang on to one set, because they might be handy in an emergency. I let the other 17 sets go... ;%) )

Honestly. ____ for brains.

Most companies can stop this sort of thing on request. Did they say they wouldn't?

To be honest, I've never had them pay any attention to me on any other topic--I didn't think they'd listen on this one. But you're right--I should at least give them one chance to fix it.

(I figured it would be like my having a virtual account with the phone company. A lengthy and convoluted saga, with the end result being I pay for a special ring that hasn't worked with two different phones.)

The only reason I know is that I work connected to the financial industry. I don't understand why card companies send out all these things. No one seems to want them - I know I don't either. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Mom managed to make wheat/dairy/egg stuffing that was still really good. I was proud of her.

Does "-Free" belong in that statement? Excellent! I made a pumpkin cheesecake with a pecan crust that was "awesome" as W put it. I thought the crust a tad sweet, but no complaints from the people who inhaled it. And not a stitch of wheat anywhere.

Full report tomorrow, I think--

Whoops! Yep - that should have read "free." She has a new cornbread based mix that she made pumpkin bread with. I want to try to morph it into gingerbread, but that recipe will take some work.

Cornbread into gingerbread sounds elastic but not impossible. But since I can't have corn, either, I think I need to make up a ginger cheesecake or something....
