And where was The Exorcist?
From an AP article at EV1.net (link isn't available, nor the name of the author of the article, I'm afraid.) This is an intriguing little tidbit. I remember when there was a lot of hysteria about Satanism going on, and rituals—and the day care hysteria that turned out to be a hill of beans and a lot of children coerced into making untrue statements.... Now, it turns out that in one city, perhaps where there was smoke, there was, indeed, fire.
How appropriate that the individual accused is a Roman Catholic priest—since Satanism is only truly found as a perversion of Christianity. Satanism has nothing to do with Pagans or Wiccans—they don’t believe in Satan.
I have no idea if this man is falsely accused—-once again making this all a witch-hunt—-or may actually have killed this nun. But it would make good fiction....

The Toledo Diocese is taking another look at a woman's previously dismissed claims of satanic sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests now that one of the clergymen has been charged with the "ritualistic" slaying of a nun 24 years ago.
The Rev. Gerald Robinson was arrested last week on charges of strangling and stabbing Sister Margaret Ann Pahl, 71, about 30 times during Easter weekend 1980. Her body, covered by an altar cloth and surrounded by burning candles, was found in a hospital chapel.
**snip**
But Kenneth Lanning, a former FBI agent who studied hundreds of cases of alleged satanic abuse, said he found no documented examples of organized group ritual abuse.
"There were cases of bizarre crimes or people dabbling in the occult who performed bizarre crimes," he said. But he said there no evidence of a group or cult coordinating the abuse.
