Tomato Report --

$#%$#@!

The OTHER nearly ripe Jaune Flamee has been gnawed by SOMETHING, I don't know what -- teeth seem small, so maybe a squirrel, not a deer? Have no idea -- but something is ALSO eating Hibiscus buds!

I've been told that hibiscus are poisonous. I can hope. Tomatoes aren't poisonous, despite what our ancestors believed -- but I may be whistling in the wind that I'll get any. May need to move the pots closer to the pool. If a deer hits the pool, I'm calling [livejournal.com profile] lasofia's dad.

No wonder Ru Emerson calls them "Rats with Antlers".

The snow white cherry tomato (actually pale yellow) is still setting fruit. Please -- just one tomato

Do you own a pellet gun? If not, you might as well relinquish the garden to the wildlife. Most years I just plant lots so there is plenty for everyone, but this year, the bunnies just mowed EVERYTHING, and technically it's not even summer yet! Good luck with yours.

A client tells me that she has a "blaster" to protect her stuff, and it does work. Only drawback (other than price) is that eventually you forget to turn it off, and it drenches you, so you're not as religious about turning it on at night.

I'm going to research it. Will report if I can find them.

There's always a big dog, but I'd like to get the cat war solved first.
