I'm in the district (in Arizona) that has Kolbe retiring--and the Thuglican candidate is a shrieking wingnut. The Democrat is a local kid, and is leading by a wide margin in the polls. Thug National has actually yanked funding for Wingnut's campaign, basically saying they don't care if the Dem wins. Wingnut even gives my ultra-Thuglican dad the creeps--and that takes doing.

In spite of that, I wish I could be more hopeful than I am. I'm expecting them to nuke Iran and then rig the elections to bring back the Ignoble Majority.

This Foley thing may be a tipping point. Mid-America Moms are extremely offended to find out just how important the pages are to the Speaker of the House. Would he be so calm about members sending sexually explicit messages to the daughters of families in that district?
