AOL Group Writing for Publication -- I'm talking about Synopses!

10 pm, EDT

Footnote: The book I use for my synopsis class is
WRITING THE FICTION SYNOPSIS: A step by step approach
by Pam McCutcheon *** ISBN 0-9654371-1-6

Also, I'm too rushed to remember the html today, but many writers have interesting information to share about writing. Find the web sites of M.H. Bonham, Holly Lisle, Irene Radford, Patricia C. Wrede, and Michael Stackpole (podcasts) just for starters.

In some things, we're a Greek chorus -- in other things, we have very different ideas and why we recommend what we do.

Visit them -- learn from them.

And I'll try to get around to a site upgrade this next year. New year starts either 10/3 (when I got the call that Warner wanted FIRE SANCTUARY) or 10/31 (most of my ancestors came from Keltic lands, so Samhain makes more sense than the other.) At that point, I'll put up the high points of my agent and synopsis articles for Writer's Digest Magazine.

And on another front -- Yahoo has eaten my digests. Bah, humbug! Must "unbounce"....

I have a workshop/essay on my website http://www.ireneradford.com on writing synopses. Feel free to reference it if you find anything useful there.

I wish I'd had time to look before the session! I'll add it to my "Visit these places for good stuff".

Thanks --

Wish I'd known sooner! I need all the help I can get with the Dreaded Synopsis. :)

I can send you the "good parts" version of Pam's book to get you started. Would I use your LJ email address or another one?

If you're not ready for it, you can always ask later.

Here's basis of my notes --
