Yes, these outbreaks interest me. I think we're overdue for a pandemic, and the question is, can we keep a lid on it in the country of outbreak? How far will it spread, in the age of air flight? And now the Chinese are mum once again.

"Chinese authorities have banned local reporters from visiting areas where an outbreak of a pig-borne disease has killed 34 farmers, ordering newspapers to use dispatches from the state news agency, a Hong Kong newspaper reported Sunday."

Apparently we're closer to abandoning sun time forever. I can see the point of those who wish to change--but I also know that I feel a need for the seasons and the sun to have some connection to each other. The day after we go off daylight savings is always very strange to me. I will have been noticing that time was feeling stretched...and then suddenly it snaps into a place and time. But then I believe in that form of time travel where we are seconds into a loop of time...
