Lo, a mighty warrior has fallen . . .
Mar. 14th, 2006 05:26 pmW is taking a quick nap in hopes of regaining his energy and his stomach. We've been in a blood study, and he'd volunteered to be a control (my hero!) But the local branch of the blood draw folk doing the study seemed to have a bit of trouble with the draws today -- it took three times, both arms, to get me this time (with one wasted 1/2 tube) and there's one more day of the study for me to go. It's 3 days out of 4, so I could skip tomorrow, but I don't want to chicken out.
But I told W I completely understood. They made several attempts on him, and when he felt queasy and went to get a damp towel, he passed out in the restroom! Fortunately, he didn't hit his head, and he hadn't locked himself in. They heard him fall. Since they'd just had trouble with me (I was already gone, he'd come from work and I from the studio) they will not be happy to see me tomorrow!
It's so odd -- some people have no trouble at all giving blood, and others it's like pulling hen's teeth.
