Well, we're back.
M and N held down the fort for us, and we came home to contented cats and a crystal clear pool. I actually got to tweak the hot tub chemistry, and use it and the pool without further hassling. (N did not want to touch the hot tub -- she says she kills hot tubs -- so I said ignore it. Sometime while we were gone the breaker tripped on the tub. It was cold but alive when we got back. Does this mean her curse extends even to tubs she merely passes by?)
So we're unpacking, hitting Costcos for produce (and an early birthday present for me -- the new Evanovich!) dinner at Texas Land & Cattle (smoked sirloin, baked sweet potato and lime vinaigrette tossed salad, yum!) follow4d by B&N and dessert at Teo's gelato. This meant BRING IN ON for my birthday, too! Also tried in vain to get more California Natural for the cats. Neither Petco nor PetSnart carry Super Premium food -- bah, humbug! Also picked up a thank you for M and an additional thanks for N to something I found in Michigan.
The weather could not have been better the nine days we were away. We had one sticky night (upper 80s and humid) and a slightly rainy night and AM -- otherwise, hovered between 75-85 F, nights in the upper 50s to 60s. Got to see both siblings, niece and nephew, parents, and some old acquaintances. Did not get to see my oldest friend -- she, her spouse and two of their three children are moving from northern Indiana to Pullman, Washington. The painting and touch up in the house is furious. Oldest child and only daughter is going to go to the Indiana Academy for junior and senior high school students. I'd never heard of it -- it's less than 10 years old, I think -- but it will cost only $1500 for a year, and everyone will be new, so she doesn't have to try and crack the formed Pullman groups with years of friendship behind them.
Planted several lilies (rich oranges and yellows) and day lilies (maroon and yellow ones -- I separated the one lilly clump into 6 plants.) The hill was colorful when I left.
My parents looked good overall. They still drink too much, in my opinion, but it's because of pain. And since they know my hands hurt, they don't want me to work on them. I'm going to have to buy a used table and take it north with me -- then they'll take me seriously. I did some Critz work on my youngest sister -- it was basic needed balancing. She said it took care of the back trouble, yeah! My parents both stay up longer at night, playing Gin Rummy or watching a movie with us. Dad still has serious insomnia, leaving me wondering if I have insomnia made worse by LBb, or if my parents have contracted LBb, too. I also wonder about my sisters -- but I can't be seeing LBb at every turn. Can't fix the world.
After the first night or so, I was going to sleep earlier and sleeping later. I think it was good for me -- I did not bloat as much there, leaving me to wonder if the cooler nights contributed to better sleep. So -- three possibilities. More sleep helps in controlling the bloat. More Tai Chi Chih helps. There's a microscopic chance that making my family berry crisps with berries, butter, brown sugar and Quaker Oats is making the LBb happy, but I doubt it. Or...not taking the saccharomyces boulardii yeast is helping. I need to try some elimination testing.
Organized some book stuff. As I finish the web stuff, the book will slide into first place. But for now -- going to try and keep to the Michigan schedule.
Good night.
