Adventures in food...

It's one of those nights where I would cheerfully damage someone to get my hands on a low-carb pumpkin pie. The odd people at HEB tell me it's a seasonal product only. Is this why they are always out of canned pumpkin? I must stock up. A low-carb pumpkin pie is at least half a vegetable serving, isn't it? I may make sweet potato pie instead.

And as I floated past LinkedIn, I noticed that a cupcake weekend threatens. I would cheerfully avoid various foods tomorrow/today and Thursday to be able to help dispose of cupcakes on Friday. But I cannot remember RZ's handle. It is amazing that I recognize as many handles as I do, looking through them, but that one went south on me.

**Sigh** I decided "Alfreda89" was a good compromise between da writer and the private person hiding behind the writer. But as I gear up for more actual fiction, I realize I may need another journal with my name. (What a concept -- allowing myself to be found!)

Well, a better choice for employment...

Here's an interesting (and a bit distressing) interactive map of the USA, showing how the recession has hit various parts of the country. It's by county.

On a purely mid-term scale of: If I am strong enough to get a part-time job, we have the three other places I might have gone. Tucson is in the 7% category, and the towns my sisters live in have 8.1% and 9.5% respectively. Here, it's only 5%.

And, on a completely different front -- I managed to erase all the messages on my new, as yet unset up land line. So, if you are expecting a return call, call again! I can't find any way to review what phone numbers have called.
