Well, a better choice for employment...

Here's an interesting (and a bit distressing) interactive map of the USA, showing how the recession has hit various parts of the country. It's by county.

On a purely mid-term scale of: If I am strong enough to get a part-time job, we have the three other places I might have gone. Tucson is in the 7% category, and the towns my sisters live in have 8.1% and 9.5% respectively. Here, it's only 5%.

And, on a completely different front -- I managed to erase all the messages on my new, as yet unset up land line. So, if you are expecting a return call, call again! I can't find any way to review what phone numbers have called.

and my eyebrows are spontaneously wiggling in response to the work on my shoulders :) thank you!!

And thanks to you! It's amazing how clearing out under that table and positioning the breakfronts with neat boxes on them made me feel less overwhelmed. It was MUCHO appreciated!

Remember -- water, and a hot or cold pack, if you're staying up any longer. (Sometimes I fall asleep with a warm sack under my neck on the medulla oblongata. Really helps at that spot where about six muscles overlap...) Water and packs tomorrow also good.

water, indeed!

and I'll take a cornbag w/ me today to a workshop that should involve low physical effort levels.

Maybe that's what I should do with the corn chop -- instead of cat litter, it might do well as heat packs? (The leftover fresh stuff, not the stuff Merlyn pokes at!)

perhaps?

We've used whole deer corn, not sure how the chopped stuff would hold up over time. give it a try & let me know? linen or cotton bags seem ideal, don't want plastic that'd melt in microwave, or silk/wool that might "cook" (and stink)

It will go on the mental "when unpacked and have a mental occupation that is not at odds with stitching hot pockets" list.
