So Much For Stick and Carrot Reasoning....

So...there’s something I have to write. I don’t want to write it, for starters – it’s sending off near panic attacks. But it needs to be done. I began gathering things, but any excuse will do to avoid this, despite the need to get it rolling.

I decide to do the old “Stick and carrot” routine with something I want. The idea, for those unfamiliar with the system, is simple. There’s something you want. Well, you can have it – after you take care of the stick part. The thing wanted is both dangling carrot and minor goad to keep going.

I have several Amazon coupons and a bit of leftover Xmas return money available, and there’s a sale -- $20 off – on a series I want. Now, someone at Amazon watches the competition – Amazon has been known to have sales only against competitors on specific things, and then yank the items back to full price. So...Wednesday I go ahead, and for $16.34, I get a ten disk series I want (the $20 off satisfying the frugal gene) and three trade paperbacks. I arrange for them to get free shipping, thus pushing their arrival back. They will leave the 21st if I do that, and the 5-7 day delivery means they won’t arrive until the end of the month. Gives me two solid weeks to try and work on this project every day, keep the panic down, etc.

Friday I get a notice from Amazon. They have shipped a partial order for me -- the books.

Crack on a string! Honestly, this is gonna be like rings of power, burning my mind away.

Today I get another notice. The DVDs shipped.

Argghhh...............
