(That's my bold on the zoning process, BTW -- if we open this door, it will become a floodgate.)

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Tell the Waterfront Advisory Planning Board and the Planning Commission again to reject the Barton Springs PUD.

Apparently we really scared these reckless developers. Since we all sent our first set of emails to the WAPB and Planning Commission the developers have really stepped up their grassroots pressure. Show these board members that Austinites care more about the waterfront zone than another high rise. Worse still, if the city approves this Barton Springs "PUDdle" that is less than an acre in area, any developer can circumvent the zoning process by obtaining PUD status.

Here's the web site:

I won't put the click link for the entire Waterfront Advisory Planning Board and/or Planning Commission, since it's to a bunch of individual links. But you can get to it on their web site.

Copy and paste the following language or write your own:

"Dear Board Member:

Please vote to reject the 801 Barton Springs PUD application. Allowing a building that is less than an acre to circumvent the traditional zoning process is bad for Austin and sets a dangerous precedent for future development.

Thank you,
