I have the bestest people in my life! I was telling a friend that I had become a Jazz junkie while I was ill -- Cable music is good for something -- and that I was in love with sax player Dave Koz's work. Seemed like every time I'd hear someone new whose stuff I liked, the sax player on it was Dave Koz.
So he's coming to
One World Theater. I thought,
Maybe I can swing $30 for the ceiling or something. I was going to check to see if anyone wanted to go.
Clearly it's been a while since I've done a concert, and never at One World. Well, my friend has a new IPhone (his first) and was tracking down the info online while we talked. And discovered that tickets start at $50.
Out of budget, sigh. So, maybe another time.
The next day I check my email -- and there's a ticket for the concert! SECOND ROW! (I have no idea how big this place is, I'm gonna pack earplugs just in case!) With a note attached that said Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas/Happy Easter and so on.
He's done something like this twice in the many years I've known him -- just decided I needed something and arranged it.
It is such a lovely thing to do. I am blessed in my friends.
I get to go to Dave Koz's show! I just have to figure out how to handle the ticket. Although One World sells gift certificates, apparently their system doesn't allow you to put someone else's name on a ticket -- only the card holder. So I need to call and find out how to handle it.
Boing Boing boing!
