It is well worth checking to see if you qualify for the WIA Grant. This one is Federal, and there are numerous ways to qualify. They don't count long term savings or IRAs against you, just what's in your checking account (at least in Texas.) I screwed up worried about the Fiscal Cliff and put six months money in my account, so I don't qualify. But you might! You may even qualify if you were self-employed and your income stream has dried up.

There is also another grant if your company is admitting they sent your job overseas (they may not be admitting it...I'm looking at you, Dell.) But if you need just a new software package to look fresh on the job market? Check this out, and other grants in your area!

They are a %^^&* in ebooks, so they have to go to the body of the work.

But they won't. Or rather, they will but they won't. I moved them to the end. I deleted them from the footnote section of the page as instructed.

Paragraph symbol is still there.

Bets on whether this will mess up the formatting?

I hope my mentor has a suggestion.

Lots and lots of interesting, thought-provoking stuff in here. I haven't finished half of it, I have to go back to work, and the fire alarm just went off so, heart failure. Cat protesting. Yearly building test. Will return with some sub-links later on from some of these articles.

N. K. Jemisin is an up-and coming Hugo-nominated author. She was also the GOH at Continuum in Australia this weekend, and has posted the text of her GoH speech on her blog. It's a mind-blowing comparative synthesis of attitudes toward racism and sexism in Australia, in America... and in SFWA. Go read it.

Sadly, I suspect she's right about the prospects of progress in America on those fronts -- which means I won't live to see it happen either.
