Retraining Job Grants--Do You Qualify?
Jun. 12th, 2013 08:47 amIt is well worth checking to see if you qualify for the WIA Grant. This one is Federal, and there are numerous ways to qualify. They don't count long term savings or IRAs against you, just what's in your checking account (at least in Texas.) I screwed up worried about the Fiscal Cliff and put six months money in my account, so I don't qualify. But you might! You may even qualify if you were self-employed and your income stream has dried up.
There is also another grant if your company is admitting they sent your job overseas (they may not be admitting it...I'm looking at you, Dell.) But if you need just a new software package to look fresh on the job market? Check this out, and other grants in your area!
