The Sun Has Gone Ahead of Us...
Mar. 9th, 2014 08:53 amAn hour ago, it was too early to get out of the actual bed, though I'd been awake for hours. Now, I am moving and ready for a gray day. Maybe we'll get more rain, which is a very good thought.
I've never gotten used to Daylight Savings Time. I grew up in Indiana, so we had the back and forth DST thing going to Michigan in the summer. My grandparents moved to Arizona in my teens, so no matter where I lived, I was always calling people who lived and died on Sun time.
"...according to the the Physical Measurement Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Daylight Saving Time is not observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the state of Arizona--with the exception of the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does observe DST..."
I've never been convinced that Daylight Savings Time was really useful, because frankly, we are a sleep-deprived nation as it is. The best thing in the world we could do is jettison it and go back to the sun.
In the meantime...perhaps a cup of green tea.
