Even if you don't plan to use the chimney AS a chimney...

Thank god for the door on the thing -- I don't want to think about how much money has gone up the chimney. I suspect it wasn't bad except on massively cold and windy days, like during the ice storms. I found out why it felt like a wind tunnel when I sat on the couch and worked....

I did this in my duplex, too. Thank god BH thought to actually check the flue!

So...a new TAG. Note to Self:

Chai is my "dumb blonde" icon, even tho she's not blonde. (I designed her though the sleepless night of the great tooth battle, and use her on bad LBb days and just for friendly posts.) But it does confirm my higher thinking processes have not been at their best since I've lived in this house.

W was wonderful -- just was pleased I'd figured it out and closed it!
