And in tarot news....

A "Hello, Kitty" tarot deck is just wrong on so many levels...

Now, a "Hello, Cthulhu" deck -- now we're talking.

It's actually a lovely, lovely deck. I have a copy of it, sadly they seem to not be sold anymore.

It's impossible to get a negative/scary reading from it, there's down & there's the Tower & all, but there's some way to see through, to the other side, that life goes on and that we'll pull through.

For friends who are feeling particularly fragile, who yet want a reading, I'll use this deck & they'll relax a bit and open up to seeing their own path out of whatever pit they feel trapped within.

That actually makes perfect sense. I know I can't read Haindl for some people -- it was very depressing for me at one point. And I don't understand people reading runes, although it works for some -- way too down for me.

When I started working on "Nekomancer," a friend brought me a Hello, Kitty tarot deck to hold. They're very rare ... wonderful and rare. I'm glad you posted this link, so I can refresh my memory on some of the cards!

I actually know people who would like this deck! It amuses me. Glad it's a good memory.

Man, I haven't got time to read posts tonight...LONG drive tomorrow....

I had deep suspicions...

Death is a bunny! with an executioners hood, a scythe, riding a pale horse. It somehow always brings to mind the lovely episode of Twilight Zone, back when Robert Redford, the 20something hottie, played Death, as a young man in black who came to an old woman and talked with her gently, until she was no longer afraid of the change he represents & she left her body/life and walked away with him willingly, obviously lighter of spirit for what she left behind.

I remember seeing a rerun of that episode. When Stirling died, someone reprinted the last voice-over from that episode, the one about being beyond pain or fear. It's one of the really good ones.

I just got a comment that said the deck was impossible to get a bad reading from. That is cool. Ok, I reverse my Bleargh. I can see how someone could find this a very comforting deck. I just don't think it would be the one for me.

Hummm.... Not that I want bad readings, but I suspect that people who doen't see challenges in the cards aren't thinking about the reading long enough.

Of course, we all know I think too much, so I am not the one to pass judgement on these cards or their fans!
