Well, isn't this just ducky...

My health insurance went up in January to 347/month from 291/month.

And it isn't very good insurance.

*Sigh.* Would really like to heal enough to hold at least a part time job, because in a few months, the savings account will be in peril.

Mine jumped about the same percentage. It happens to be pretty good insurance, but I only have it for another year (COBRA). After that... I have no idea what I'm going to do. I can't go bare, but I'm definitely going to be paring back everything I think I can skate on.

And I'm going to start an HSA account. It seems to make sense (and cents).

If I had the money, I'd do the HSA account. Perhaps I should look into it, since I know what the doctor consultation and Pfrimmer and chiropractic/nutritionist cost a month...

pre-tax dollars... it's worth looking into, at least.

Insurance companies are just evil. There's just no two ways about it. They LOVE taking your money, but find all sorts of reasons not to give it back to you. Hoping that you find a way to get things worked out. I'm living without coverage at the moment. Very scary stuff. The only saving grace is that I have a whole school of students willing to practice helping me out (as long as it's nothing like a broken arm or somesuch).

That student group is a blessing for you -- and I hope you can help R as your skill grows. I remember getting a massage twice a week, and boy, would I do it if I could afford it!
