American Direct comes to Austin

And thanks to Ryan Cragun blogging about his experience, I don't even have to waste my time checking to see if it's a real buying club like Costco/Sam's, or a scam.

It sounds very much like a scam, once the "scheduling" caller gets hold of you. We live in a retired/transitional development with young families and professional young marrieds now remodeling old homes. I suspect we were selected by zip code. The first caller simply sounds like someone with a more targeted list (like they bought it from Home Depot, ha-ha...) opening a new store.

Do not give them a real name. When "Kate" gets calls, I'm always waiting for the con...

Here's Ryan's report:

But don't get it confused with Direct Buy, which sound similar and a little scammy, but isn't.

I did get it confused with Direct Buy, which is why I gave them any info at all.

Thanks for bringing them up!

I think I have seen their commercials on either very late at night, or extremely early in the am.. depends on your definition of time.
