Survived the party
We had our first party, despite the mountains of boxes yet to be unpacked. We decided that if we waited until we unpacked, it could be months...years...decades... So we invited over a couple dozen friends and acquaintances from work, dance, writing, Odd Friday-- Everyone brought something to grill and things to share, and we served an assortment of special root beers and our attempts at homemade gelato (well received, especially the dairy-free chocolate and the gingered grapefruit {fresh ginger}). M & E brought gingered vanilla (ginger preserves and diced candied ginger added) and their IC Maker to make awesome fresh vanilla ice cream, & M bought fresh plum sorbet and champagne peach sorbet (WOW!) There was much swimming, much yakking, and I believe a good time was had by all. Got to introduce people to good folks they hadn't met, which is always nice. W handled my passion for expanding the circle of good people--more next time?! And it didn't rain until at least two hours after we finished up.
Only one stray towel abandoned and one straw paper plate supporter accidentally tossed (since recovered, and in the driest trash sack, yes!) as the only casualties, and I'm going to try and re-freeze that Champagne Peach!
We were tired but felt rewarded by a good party and hope for a nice hot Indian Summer day later on in the fall to do it again. Now, to watch for dirt cheap sales on deck chairs....

umm blue bath sheet????
I guess I don't get a donation to the pile! Dark navy with purplish hint bath sheet--and thick, it's still not dry with this humidity--
