Things your Media Momma Didn't Tell You....

Did you know that 51% of Americans would like the current president and vice-president impeached? No?
Did you know that a bill has already been filed in the House of Representatives calling for the Impeachment of Dick Cheney? It's managed to get 6 co-sponsors.
Why, no, you haven't heard of this, either? You thought the Vermont Senate voting unanimously for impeachment were out there all alone?
Somehow, I doubt the liberal-controlled press is handling this part of the War on Terror. Folks who live in Blue States -- check this out, and goose your Reps. And don't lose any time doing it. Why? How about Number 6 on the list:
6. The Homeland Security Department last year awarded Halliburton $385 million in a no-bid contract to construct prison camps designed to hold tens of thousands of unspecified prisoners in the event of domestic unrest. Meanwhile, President Bush has signed a bill altering the insurrection act so that he can declare martial rule and order active duty troops to take charge anywhere in the domestic US in the event of "public disorder." No one in the corporate media has reported on these developments or asked the White House to explain what it's all about.
In fact, I think a little double-checking of facts and writing to our newspapers and network news and blogs and Congress Critters is needed -- NOW -- because I'm no longer sure Der Fuhrer is planning to leave office in 2008. The Media is clearly in the back pocket of the administration, and even in Texas, we don't have enough guns to hold off the Army.
(And don't give me any crap about Bush not going after Texas 'cus it's his state. Once the Electoral College is toast, he won't care a scrap about the people of this state. He'd be a fool to leave the various heavily-armed states like TX, CO, MT and Idaho alone. I'm starting to think a friend was right -- we should have marched and burned tires after the Florida 2000 results.)
PS: For those wondering about the accuracy of these 10 things, here's the link to Congressman Kucinich's web site, listing the supporting documents for his filing that Bill for Impeachment.

Remember -- The people get the government they deserve. Do we have time to screw with this? NO. Do we need to screw with this? Apparently -- YES.
Thanks to
willshetterly (no, really!) for the link to this article.

Actually --
Sometimes, late at night, I wonder if I should have moved to Canada with friends, back in about 1980. I wonder what kind of life I would have ended up with, if I'd gone that route?

Re: Actually --
Quite true -- I still think the day may come when the Maritimes break away and join New England, and the west joins up with CA-OR-WA and even Alaska. Being joined by similar climate and interests makes more sense. 100 years from now, it may be that way.
W turned out to be 4F, an odd turn of events, so he didn't serve. Now, he's a keen observer of politics, but his Blood Pressure would definitely be lower if he stopped reading blogs. But the first thing he said after the 2000 election, when I asked him what he thought, was "He will probably be impeached before his term ends."
We can hope!

I'm surprised he hasn't done it already.

I am now considering lessons in marksmanship once again, after (cough) years...

Like all grandiose incompetents, he and his cronies are his own worst enemy. I wondered if they allowed the 2004 elections to go against them in order to manufacture a scapegoat, but I think they really are that stupid. They didn't believe they could lose, in spite of all evidence to the contrary.
They're still partying as if it's 2003.

That's what I hope.
How convenient, to have such an expressive icon, useful for so many subjects!

What I'm wondering, is there a large contingent of troops being kept over here and not sent to Iraq, so they will stay loyal and not question their training?
Personally, I want to start sending Guy Fawkes masks to everyone.
