Democratic Caucus 2008 Step One --

Precinct 254-D reporting in. Over 300 at caucus. 2:1 split -- 30 Obama delegates, 13 Clinton delegates. For my sins, I am an alternate to the Travis County Convention the end of the month.

Democracy in action. Note to self -- take copy of the Rules of Order to the next caucus, in case the new precinct captain doesn't know them!

Some good news, at least. Potentially bad news -- my over-worked Lyme practitioner is closing her CA office. Not sure yet what this means for me. Bah.....

Someone said 2 -- I think they were joking. But probably not by much. When I lived in DFW, we had something like eight people show up for the Democratic caucus (it was a heavily Republican precinct). Which was a slight problem, because we came to vote for Hart, and the precinct captain thought we should give Dukakis (sp?) some of the delegates, since he was the front-runner.

Which illustrates the problem -- the people didn't want Dukakis -- the DNC did. This time, there are too many of us to sweep us away. We want either Obama or Clinton. Don't offer us bait 'n switch, DNC.

sorry to hear about the practitioner closing her office. It takes me a long time to find medical people I trust and like, so I always hate to lose one for whatever reason.

Well, I followed her from TX to CA. I will follow her to DC, if necessary, because there is no one to treat me here. And I'm finally improving in a lot of ways!

Drat. I sure hope the shots keep me improving. I do not want to start IV with the office in flux.

And now...Tai Chi and bed. Boy, was it a busy day!

I was supposed to be at that caucus, but I was cold and by the time I took a warm up shower and stepped out and remembered it was seven thirty and I put on pjs and crawled in bed and slept for nine hours.

And the kids let you sleep that long? Wow!
