Closer than we think....

Geeks and Bubbas, that is. We were talking about shooting an old computer to put it out of its misery, and then someone said they were "THIS close" to putting the thing on blocks in their front yard. (We all have a neighbor within a mile of work or home who does this...big lawns in some areas.)

And of course, knowing about this site, someone else had to share:

Oh, wow. That is so funny. LOLLOL. [Little Old Lady Laughing Out Loud.] However, having given it some thought, I've decided that the idea of putting the computer on blocks in the front yard is even funnier. You could maybe make it into a planter...

I admit --

The idea of turning a couple of PC towers into matching planters really does appeal. I was already thinking about making the boards into an art statement.

A neighbor complained recently about a large RV in the street -- not illegal, but there you are. The owners rolled back their fence and put the RV in the back corner of their lot.

Then they went and bought a bunch of toilets from the junkyard, handing them out to whomever wished to join their silent protest. We now have a lot of toilet art tucked into our middle class streets. Mostly planters.

My fear is that this protest will last through the end of the year, and someone will build one into a manger. And once again, our neighborhood will be in the news.

If you dig deeply enough, there's a little bubba in all of us!
