I've consistently abused Mr. Gates in the past for his company's business practices and the dubious quality of its software, but I've said for a long time that he seems to be a decent human being and a good world citizen. He's donated massive amounts of money to charity over the years, and almost all the rest of his wealth will be given away when he dies rather than just going to his kids. The next Gates generation will be quite comfortable, to be sure, but he doesn't believe in unearned wealth and hoarding of resources. If only more of the "I got mine" crowd looked at the world that way...
