and AT&T, too. I have been to web sites (plural) to try and figure out the best plan for HS Internet and phone, but every time I talk to someone, the price goes up. I already have 88 stations cable included in my rent. T-W is supposed to count it as one pillar of a package before adding other things in. But DVR is 4x what I thought it is, and that brings it up to $124.99 with only Internet and wireless added. So...was going to do T-W for convenience of everything at one place, but AT&T's package of DSL, land line and cell for $99 plus tax looks better and better. Or -- I could get Internet, and just get a phone from my sister's circle and pay her $20 a month for phone and unlimited LD. And save for a Tivo.

Is there a definitive T-W site for Austin?

First of all, let me apologize for not helping with The Move. I was already hip-deep in taxes when I got your email, and I knew if I didn't get it done that weekend they wouldn't get done in any timely manner.

I was a TWC cable subscriber, and I hated them. I moved both cable and internet to AT&T as soon as I could. I've never had any outages/slowdowns with AT&T and their customer service reps have been nothing but helpful. My only complaint is that TiVo is not comaptible with U-verse, but the DVR you get from AT&T is quite good. I use the DSl Pro (not the highest speed), and it's perfectly adequate as to download speed, etc. You have to have a landline, though.

Not a prob -- I understand about taxes. I dread mine this year -- so much going on, still not done with last year's folders. Also found out some stuff on my new apartment -- I hope it's going to be the experience of the 5.0 tenants and not the 1.0 tenants.

Trying to stage last things before they come tomorrow for the furniture. W said he'll pay for the move, which is why I am keeping some calm. Stress...well, we know what it can do to me.

Wireless is free if you get your own router. ~ $40, one time payment. This is what I have and it works swimmingly. But, do you have more than one system or a laptop? If not you mway not need a wireless router.

It would probably be cheaper to increase your cell-phone plan and drop your land-line. All the cool kids are doing it. ;)

And most shows are available on-line now (anytime!), so skip the DVR for a little while.

I have a 2+ year old Dell desktop and a laptop that is in the same ballpark. may have a router in with the wireless -- I'll need to double-check. I either have to get my own cell plan, or tag into the five numbers my sister's family plan has.

Do you use T-W or DSL?

We are an anti-TW house, too. They are just too unreasonable to deal with. We have AT&T U-verse with cable, phone and HS internet in a bundle. I don't know what we pay or how we negotiated because Hubby did it all. And he did it during some sort of promotion so we got a pretty good deal. I'll check with him and I'll check our bills to see what we got. So sorry that you are having to do all of this!

I tried it, but it wants a phone number -- can't find it with a 5 number zip, won't accept the 9 digit one.

Bah -- I would like to qualify for this. Maybe time for one call -- my sister has this in northern Indiana, and they like it -- cheaper, too --
