If you're having trouble explaining this same-sex marriage thing to people....
Here's what Michael Jones had to say over at Change.org:
"Wanna see the best video on the subject of same-sex marriage to date? Check out the Courage Campaign's "Fidelity" video, which shows the very families and couples that will be harmed if the California Supreme Court fails to invalidate Proposition 8. If you've already seen this video, forward it onto others. It's the most powerful thing I've seen to date on Proposition 8, and the struggle for marriage equality."

Guess who is trying to overturn the marriages? Ken Starr.
**Sigh**

Thanks for sharing. This issue means a lot to me. Two of my best friends, Beth and Casey, married this fall, just before Prop 8 was passed.
It was also a delight to see the video -- I went to college with Regina Spektor, and every time I hear one of her songs used in media (especially for such a great cause!) I get a thrill.
We will win in the end.
My greatest amusement is people who say: "People will be marrying animals next! Or polygamy will be legal! Marriage is one man, one woman!"
Uh....until recent history, marriage was one man and as many women and children as he could protect, feed and house. Or was a legal arrangement for the passage of property from one woman and her brother to her children. And in a few places, multiple men married one woman. This "1" concept is the new thing!
And of course, we are all sodomites now (primary meaning essentially intimacy that does not result in pregnancy). And the slightly more normal fundies are trying hard to keep the lid on those people who feel that any marriage that does not produce children within two years should be dissolved.
Won't that go over well with Americans? ;^)
