Computer drawing instruments?

Not yet for me -- I have a nephew graduating from HS who thinks he wants to major in computer graphics. He'll be at one of Purdue University's extensions at first, so no idea if they'll have new stuff or older stuff for him to work on. His parents will give him a low-end Dell for graduation, so it would need to be able to work with a Dell.

If I come up with this idea fast enough, I may have a sister to go in on it.

Or it may be a combination graduation/birthday gift, since I've been working on graduation gifts so long, I totally blanked on the birthdays Sunday and Wednesday....

A gift certificate at a techy store (or catalogue that carries the appropriate products. That way he can pick out exactly what he needs. (and not have to hassle with returns/exchanges)

Always good in theory, but so many people think that's impersonal at best and Why Bother at worst. A good friend and I could not come up with a simple, meaningful gift for her younger daughter. So I got her a Target card, since she was buying everything for the dorm there. She never did remember to write a thank you for it, although when I called, her mom confirmed that she got it. Said daughter was sheepish about forgetting, and apologetic -- but did remember a verbal thanks.

Gift certificates pass in and out of the ears without registering....

I could also get him a fountain pen. Not sure if he'd like the novelty. His older sister graduates from college, but is going for a PhD there and is in Taiwan right now doing an internship. So she may get a pen for grad/birthday. I plan on making a quilt for her graduation -- we'll see if it gets done!
