Yes, it is treebyleaf's birthday today! I wish you health and happiness in the year to come -- and hope Kosher chocolate exists, so you can enjoy some!

Thanks go out to sheilagh with her horde of ancient blenders. She loaned me her backups. I could not resist the art deco look of an ancient chrome Osterizer, and it has come to live on my counter. I am pleased to announce that it has two speeds -- blend and annihilate. Thereby, we dodge Alton Brown's "The only single task item in the kitchen is the fire extinguisher" rule. The glass jar is etched from hard water, but I may whisk that away with a lime remover. There's even a mini-jar!

I may need to learn how to make great margaritas in honor of this thing. In the meantime, I gotta cook up some grains.

I know the two ingredients that are supposed to make a frozen margarita into a Curras-style avocado margarita. Let me know when we can set up a date at your house. ;-)
