About Kindle and contracting rights for same....

Has anyone licensed a novel to Amazon for Kindle? If so, would you be willing to tell me how your negotiations went, and how you settled the royalty business? As always with Amazon, they seem to want the lion's share, and if I'm lucky there will be crumbs left.

Off-journal is fine.

Seems pretty straightforward... 35% royalty, after refunds and taxes.

I've thought of doing this for my short stories, where I hold digital rights. I already released "Bedlam Boyz" under the Baen Free Library, so I wouldn't re-release it on Amazon.

I've gotten reports on as high as 50%. And naturally, since I need money, that extra 15% would be welcomed. I'm looking for patterns.
