My tweet for the day....

Did you know that a bag of tiny carrots, if ignored a day too long, can ferment?

I was not brave enough to sample it, but the alcohol smell rivaled the sourdough starter demanding more flour....

Oh yes, I've accidentally discovered this fact before - usually when the bag suddenly looks like an air pillow that is about to burst... oops ^^;

anything with starch and sugar will start fermentation. Ever wonder hao vodka was discovered. (And have you ever smelt rotting potatoes? The peasantry must have been really desperate to try it.)

I believe it --

It's overdue time for me to add flour to the sourdough bread starter -- I can smell it in the FREEZER, much less the fridge. I'll bet spirits of some kind have been around a llllloooooonng time.
