Ever wanted to be a character in an Alfreda novel?
Here's your chance --
Well, at this point I am still going to SoonerCon, even though something has come up to gum the works a bit. In honor of my one guaranteed convention appearance outside of the Texas Hill Country, I will be sharing a reading hour with writer Tracy Morris. We will be reading from works in progress, and also having a few drawings for door prizes.
My biggie door prize requires a small effort on your part. You must show up with a copy of my Yard Dog Press chapbook, WINGS OF MORNING. If you do this, you may enter a slip with your name, address, email and phone on it for this drawing. One slip per chapbook.
The prize is simple – you will be a spear carrier in the next Alfreda novel. It's Tuckerization time! By the time of the convention, I will know which male or female supporting character you will be. You can give this as a gift, or keep it for yourself.
Since this is a period fantasy novel, I will have several sample names for people to choose from, if their own name simply won’t work in the time period. (My middle name, for example, would be a stretch in the early 1800s.) There will be other things you probably can determine for the character, but the only guarantee will be your name Tucked into the story. (If you would rather be a place, spell, or something EEEVIL, we can talk....) Details to follow.
Because I will be there, I am sure Yard Dog Press will bring copies of the chapbook. But I suggest you do not wait until the last minute, because they will only bring a certain number of them. Order now and beat the rush! Order from YDP so I actually have income this royalty period! Mention that you want this chapbook for the reading when you order! If necessary, a printed copy of your recent receipt from YDP for a WoM chapbook can count toward the drawing.
