I just found out that Sen. Cornyn took $1,863,310 and Sen. Hutchison took $1,004,514 from oil companies. Check out what your Senators have been paid.

Petitioning Cornyn and Hutchison is like talking to a fire hydrant -- they have absolutely no interest in hearing what their constituents have to say, (Although Hutchison has been known to do the right thing now and then. Cornyn, however, is a doorstop.)

Yeah, that's kinda how I look at it, too. But stats like this money grab from big oil don't hurt my case -- I'm sure folks in the gulf belt would look on it with jaundiced eyes right now.

Hutchinson does occasionally do decent things. Cornyn's claim to fame is that he was the brightest bulb of that dim ten-pack we were offered one primary a few years back. I did my best to get him the Repub nomination, because the others were SO much worse....
