I was weak.....
I have been resisting clothing fliers in the mailbox and e-mail box for months. But then Land's End has an up to 75% off sale, free shipping, and extra 20% off most things at the register.
So, have you ever done these, and gotten to the register, and they no longer have what you just so carefully picked out? This time I gave myself 30 minutes tops, and then ordered what I'd found. Period. A swimsuit and two tops, because I have lost enough weight that some of my clothing looks like it's devouring me.
I am sure this would be amusing at the pool, but I bought elastic to improve the fit on two swimsuits. Still, I hate to wear my really nice swimsuit at the club (the hot tub is chlorine, even if the pool is salt.) But the cheap one from Costco this year is already dying in the elastic department. And -- if I do find a job of any kind this fall, a few tops that fit would be good, right? Tops were $10 before the final markdown, and the swimsuit $49 before final markdown. If I get two good years out of the swimsuit, that is an improvement over the thin weight Costco cheapo that was serviceable, but I kept losing weight.
I will say this -- Land's End used to make excellent swimsuits. One of the ones I am going to adjust in the legs is LE, still in perfect condition, after fourteen years. It's heavy spandex, so it can flex with me between several sizes, but it asked for new elastic. (As opposed to demanded new elastic....)
Sewing machine is coming out this week. Watch me turn the large tops into mediums...fingers crossed!
