A new chapter of Fires of Nuala is up at BVC

Yes, it is Thursday, and BVC has not rolled over into the 2.0 web site, so there's still a free chapter of Fires of Nuala up. If you haven't sampled it yet, now's your chance!

Sorry to be so quiet -- I have been feeling steadily worse since the new year began, but it hits Friday-Saturday mostly. This time it's hung on for a week. I'm not sure if my body simply isn't ready for two hours of light to moderate exercise, or if I'm picking up a new virus every week, or what, but I haven't slept for three nights and I have something monstrously important to do tomorrow morning.

Very tired of being ill, and getting afraid again, since I'm starting to think I'm relapsing. I can't. I just can't. I'm not out of the woods yet -- I can't fall into Mirkwood again.

Sorry to hear you are not doing well. From what I've read with macrobiotics, you should not feel exhausted from doing your daily chores at the end of the day unless you went above and beyond your normal task load and that if you do, it's the first sign of catching a cold or getting sick. So I would take something that strengthens the body's ability to deal with pathogens, sleep extra, or whatever you need to do to strengthen you. But don't give up just yet.

Good luck on the court date!!

It's been postponed. I finally got a couple of hours of sleep last night. Well, Lyme is a bacteria, so that figures. Plus I've been going to that dance class to retrain my brain, so exposed to viruses there. I've been eating brown rice like crazy. I was starting to push my work load slightly before this happened, trying to see if I could handle a job. I was starting to add small amounts of meat to have more protein, but I skipped a few days of gelatin, and I think my body doesn't like the trade -- my gut has hurt a lot. Also, I think it doesn't want chips fried in oil right now, even good oil.

I'm making a vegetable bean soup today, if I can concentrate enough, and more rice. I've been making a lot of kale pesto, too! And I want eggs for breakfast with my grains -- more soft protein.

I was wondering how that extra work load was going. And yes, sadly people are germ factories.

If it makes you feel better I can't eat chips either...even those healthier ones fried in avocado oil. It's like when I look at myself within 8-24 hrs of eating it's like the the Picture of Dorian Gray or some shit. I look like I have aged 10 yrs. Carrot and beet juice do the opposite for me. My liver HATES all oil except fish, olive, virgin coconut, sesame, and flax. and as far as I know you can't really fry chips in those oils or else would have an "interesting" taste. So yeah I miss eating chips, but vanity, oh vanity!

Yup, I can eat those oils, too. I can rub avocado oil or jojoba on my face, but frying takes place at low heat with safflower, sunflower, sesame and olive oil. Chips may become something I do with baking in the oven, and they will be chips like the Brits do them, cut thick!

I don't think I have enough distance on the gluten yet -- and I need to start on the neurotransmitter increase. I was going to save gasoline and wait ten days to get the nutritionist's test on it (he's south and I have an appointment the first) but I think I will go get it next week. I want to get started on the next step!

Sleep issues set back everything. I'm going to try for a month of not worrying about anything. Maybe during Lent. Might as well make it useful for something, since I don't celebrate church holidays anymore.

Are you going to Odd Friday tonight? I'm thinking about going and making some GF scones...need to start soon, if so. And I think we need to try that acupuncture session on my hands. I've got a right finger tendon in spasm.
