Why 3D Movies don't really work

In case you missed Roger Eberts' column on this, with a letter from the guy who should know -- Walter Murch, film editor and sound designer extraordinaire.

This explains why I get a blinding headache from 3D movies. I'll save my money for other things, thanks.

And yes, Avatar was a glorious feast for the eyes even in 2D.

I have trouble seeing things spatially or even sensing things spatially which is why i often trip over things or run into objects. My eye doc seems to think it comes from having one almost blind eye and one good eye. I often take the "midpoint" of where I see things to avoid running into it but sometimes my "calculation" is wrong. That's why I avoid games that involve balls or object flying around.
